About Us

We are a regional chapter of the National Shelby Dodge Automobile Club serving enthusiasts from the greater Pittsburgh region who celebrate those vehicles produced by Shelby Automobiles, Inc. and the Dodge Division of the Chrysler Corporation from the mid-80's to the mid-90's. We invite any Turbo Mopar enthusiast who is interested in these vehicles to join us!

SWPA-SDAC: 'The Steel City Chapter' was established in 2005. Enthusiasts from the greater Pittsburgh region banned together fairly quickly to have a chapter of the Shelby Dodge Automobile Club recognized within our area, as prior to our chapter's introduction, many within the Shelby Dodge community felt that there was not enough of a member base here in western PA to designate a chapter.

As a chapter, we work closely with the neighboring Buckeye Chapter to create an atmosphere welcoming all enthusiasts between our states. Our membership base primarily is built of members from West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania. In addition, a handful of members from the Buckeye Chapter and Susquehanna Turbo Dodge Club have also become part of our chapter.

Members of The Steel City Chapter have shared a large amount of success since our club's establishment. For starters, a number of members ventured out to SDAC-15 to make a showing on behalf of the chapter where many enthusiasts from around the nation were just as excited as we were about a chapter starting up for Pittsburgh. Secondly, and most importantly, in only the second year of existence, the SWPA-SDAC hosted SDAC-17, holding the event in New Stanton, PA. The club was honored to have received the Larry Cox Memorial Award for everyone's efforts that went into the planning and coordinating of the event.

We meet every month of the year except for January, usually on the third Saturday. As a group, we make yearly appearances at SDAC, Carlisle, Chrysler Nationals at PRP, and the MOPAR Nationals. Other local shows & events including Caste Village, MOPARs in the Park, Cruisin' at Irwin, Streetlight Drags, Cabella's Memorial Day Show, and Test 'N Tunes @ PRP, are others that we attempt to make appearances at as well. We take advantage of as many of these opportunities as possible, but we do urge our members to provide us with other suggestions in order to compensate everyone's wants and availability.

We strongly urge our members to maintain a membership with the National Shelby Dodge Automobille Club, and therefore do not charge yearly dues. It is important for us to support the club that supports not only our hobby but our chapter as well.
